FAISALABAD: Thikriwala police on Wednesday registered cases against 11 policemen, including a suspended station house officer, for misuse of power. The cases were registered on directions from a court. Thikriwala police said that the officers, including former SHO Nasir Chattha, had kept innocent citizens in custody. The petition was filed by citizen Rana Muhammad Saeed, a resident of Chak 275-JB, against illegal confinement and had sought registration of a case against the respondents. The court had then ordered an inquiry into the matter and found the respondents guilty. The judge on Wednesday directed the police officer concerned to suspend the respondents and also register cases against them under Section 506 and 155-C of the Police Order 2002. No arrests have been made so far.
