Postal services: Pakistan to head working group
Pakistan will hold the chairmanship of the ‘Sustainable Development’ group for another two years.
ISLAMABAD:
Pakistan was elected unanimously as the chairman of the postal financial services working group for Asia Pacific Postal Union (APPU) as stated by Pakistan Post Operations Additional Director General Fazli Sattar Khan. He said that a two member delegation of Pakistan Post led by him attended APPU Executive Council meeting in Hong Kong. Pakistan will hold the chairmanship of the ‘Sustainable Development’ group for another two years. Pakistan Post also invited member countries to participate in fully funded course to be conducted in March-April 2013. Khan said that the delegation held a meeting with China Post’s director general to discuss improving the surface mail exchange. The APPU is an inter-governmental organisation of 32 postal administrations of the Asian-Pacific region. The purpose of the APPU is to extend, facilitate and improve postal relations between member countries and to promote cooperation in the field of postal services.
