Golf: Donald eyes return to top
Donald is eyeing a return to the top of the world rankings.
WENTWORTH:
Luke Donald is eyeing a return to the top of the world rankings as he starts the defence of his European PGA Championship title. Donald is currently ranked number two behind Rory McIlroy and is the only player in the field of the European Tour’s flagship event who can overhaul the Irishman. Last season Donald’s win propelled him to the top of the rankings for the first time and he said he is as desperate as he was 12 months ago. “I’m very motivated as a player,” said Donald. “I don’t really like to lose at anything, whether it be golf or whatever the challenge is. I like to push myself and anytime there is something to achieve I set my sights on it and I try to achieve it.”
