Jamal Siddiqui, the senior media coordinator for the Karachi PTI media centre, while talking to The Express Tribune said that they were currently finalising the petition, and it will submitted in the Sindh High Court on Thursday morning. The petition will be jointly filed by the General Secretary of PTI Dr Arif Alvi, and PTI Sindh president Sardar Nadir Akmal Khan Leghari.
Gilani has faced pressure to forego the seat of Prime Minister after he was convicted, by which, parties argue, he stands automatically disqualified from the National Assembly and hence cannot hold the office of the Prime Minister. He, however, argues that he can only be disqualified if the Speaker National Assembly deems that his offence disqualifies him, or is declared as such by the Election Commission.
PTI against division of Sindh
In the press conference at Karachi Press Club, Leghari condemned the acts of violence on Tuesday following a rally in Karachi.
A release said that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), which had taken part in the Awami Tehreek’s rally, was equally responsible for the deaths and injuries of citizens.
The release also established PTI official policy on the creation of a new province in Sindh. It said that the party considered the division of Sindh as “unacceptable”.
It added that law and order situation was being used by some parties to strengthen their vote banks, and that some elements were deliberately stoking conflicts. That those sitting in Punjab have started an hypocritical intervention in Sindh, despite having lost the confidence of the people in Punjab.
The PTI demanded deweaponisation of Karachi, and action against the culprits. It also called for a suo moto notice of the killings and loss of property by the Supreme Court.

@khurram Dont understand why people call themselves sindhi, punjabi, blochi, phathan and not call themselves pakistani.dont take the Independence for granted remember the sacrifices of our elders.they sacrificed their every thing to give us an indipendent land. Pitty the nation who divides it selves into different factions rather than Being proud on being one indipendent nation.
Dear PTI, Do some thing constructive. I Think you are planning and heading towards one more by-cote of elections only. Stop all these nonsense and send us you party policy and candidates list. Do your homework first. Still you are not a organized party still you are bunch of peoples only.
Why you are going to SHC for this?
PTI is the only party asking the right questions.
PTI cannot win one seat in Sindh.
It is wrong to suggest that after the conviction, the Prime Minister, stands automatically disqualified and cannot hold office of prime minister any more. Process of disqualification has been stated in Article 62 (2) and (3) which is reproduced below: 62 (2) If any question arises whether a member of Majlis - e - Shoora (Parliament) has become disqualified from being member , the speaker or, as the case may be, the Chairman shall, unless he decides that no such question has arisen, refer the question to the Election Commission within thirty days and should he fail to do so within the aforesaid period it shall be deemed to have been referred to the Election Commission. (3) The Election Commission shall decide the question within ninety days from its receipt or deemed to have been received and if it is of the opinion that the member has been disqualified, he shall cease to be member and his seat shall become vacant. The Prime Minister has right to appeal which he is likely to avail. As some judges have declined to sit on the Appellate bench the appeal in the circumstances, is likely to linger till the appointment of the judges to complete the Appellate Bench.
I like all policies of Imran Khan, but if nawaz take any good stance for the people of Sindh i appreciate him,my request to I.K is that please don't get personal
@pakistani: yes he is dreaming that Imran khan has become prime minister and is on national tv for his first speech to the nation watch on 1 December 2012 INSHAHALLAH
@Hamad: It's not proposterous given Imran's phobia of Nawaz Sharif.
Imran is like a scared rabbit in front of the PML N headlights. He is trying to copy PML N's stance on Sindh. And is clutching at straws by apportioning blame to PML N!!!
Unbelievable!!!
hahaha.. well now blaming the deaths in Karachi on PML - N .. I think its quiet clear that PTI is working with MQM and PPP. I seriously dont know what Imran is doing.. by not saying any thing against the sitting federal government.. they are not saying anything abt MQM .. but only PML - N Bravooo IK Bravooo
@DevilHunterX: PTI is against the Idea of a Seraiki sooba based on language alone. Given seraiki belt starts from DI Khan and stretches to Bahwalpur, a province will not serve any purpose i.e Devolution. Same for Muhajir sooba, A northern sindh province will be utterly useless without its commercial centres in Karachi, Hyderabad and Mirpurkhas. Also the majority of people in these division are against this idiotic notion. Many new administrative provinces based on divisions with modifications is one appraoch favored by many in PTI. But any provinces on facile ethnic or linguistic bases wont be acceptable.
@DevilHunterX: What do you mean by Urdu Speakers? I thought the whole of Pakistan spoke Urdu.
Why is PMLN blamed for everything? It was a peaceful rally..... How is anyone who took part in the rally responsible for the deaths? If anything, government of Sindh has the responsibility of providing security to all citizens including its opposition. It is preposterous that PTI has come up with a statement like this.
Love PTI.. But we will not support you if you tried to divide sindh.
Province for Seraki speakers in Punjab = OK!
Province for Urdu speakers in Sindh = Not OK!
Hypocrite much?
Well done PTI... Good step...
@Khurram: Nobody is calling any Sindhi a traitor. All PTI is saying that they disagree with the idea of division of Sindh (which is also what Sindhis want in principle) and the culprits who have spilled innocent blood should be brought to justice whatever side they are from? Now is that too much to ask for?
@Khurram: you guys are rigid and have narrow minded approach. Why do you always support the terrorists in sindh. All parties in this province have played with the people.
@pakistani: why??..wouldn't it be good thing for Karachi people that a new and educated face will be elected as MNA from Karachi??...:O
@Dr Abdullah: Come in internal Sindh and then call JSQM or Jeay Sindh a Terrorist and then Sindhis will tell Urban Burgers the real Picture. Also if you have guts then why not go to Lyari and then say Uzair Baloch as a Terrorist.. So if PMLN is in Coalition with Nationalist parties then there is nothing wrong. Nationalist Parties of Sindh are the sons of Sindh as well and nobody have the right to call them terrorist. PTI should refrain from calling nationalists as Terrorists. Imran Khan's and PTI's Anti Sindhi Policy is becoming transparent day by day. PTI could never win from Sindh with this attitude. People of rural Sindh will rather for PMLN rather than PTI who is calling our Sindhi parties as Traitors while PMLN is now becoming a Voice of Sindhis.
@ zia ur Rehman & Khosrow.
There is no restriction on dreaming bro. so keep on dreaming even at daytime.......:-)
PM Imran Khan,
You have as lot of work ahead of you. Please set up your cabinet as soon as possible. SC will disqualify Gilani from the PM spot. Please make good on all your pledges, ending Pak support for NATO war, and also end drone attacks. People are with you!!!
The Nationalists parties of Sindh has openly demanded seperation of Sindh from Federation of Pakistan so can anybody explain why PML-N is supporting terrorist parties like JSQM?? Why blame MQM for having militant wings when u are supporting Uzair Baloch of Layari Gang??
Agreed on the issue of division of Sindh. Even if this is necessary, this is not the time and the way to bring about the issue. If this needs to be done based on administrative basis, then a sober analysis should be conducted rather than sloganeering and violence seen recently.
Only sane voice in this country. I am really fed up of two status quo parties. I am preparing my relatives and friends to shun old parties. It is time for change. I see many good faces and technocrats in PTI. Dr. Arif Alvi is great.
to all Karachi walas out here....Make sure u guyz make Dr Arif Alvi win his NA seat from his whatever constituency by voting for him!!!!!!!.. :D
