Football: Stoke interested in Owen offer
former England striker has insisted that he would like to remain in the Premier League.
Stoke chairman Peter Coates has suggested that the club could sign Michael Owen this summer, according to ESPN, after Manchester United decided not to prolong his stay at the club. However, the former England striker has insisted that he would like to remain in the Premier League. Stoke boss Tony Pulis had also been keen on Owen when he left Newcastle United three years ago and Coates felt a deal may be possible. “Pulis is away at the moment, but that is one we could discuss when he gets back,” Coates told The Sentinel. “Pulis was interested in him previously. Owen has been a fantastic player and I can see why Pulis might be interested, but the management will take the final decision.”
