Drive-by shootings: 12 people gunned down in 24 hours
Three police men were shot dead in an attack on the police mobile on Thursday night.

Around 12 people, including party workers, two policemen and barbers, were killed in separate acts of target killings and violence in the last 24 hours. The police claim that initial investigations had started and suspect that most cases were linked to personal enmities.
Tension spread in Shah Faisal Colony after a Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) activist identified as 25-year-old Imran was shot dead outside his house in Faisal Mohalla. The body was taken to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC). The police said that he was attacked by two men on a motorcycle who shot at him three times. A large number of MQM workers and supporters reached JPMC and protested. SHO Sarfaraz Gondal said that Imran was associated with MQM’s unit-108.
In Baldia Town, two brothers identified as Basheer Buksh and Murshid were killed in a drive-by shooting in Anjam Colony. They were barbers by profession. SHO Aslam Jadoon said that the brothers lived in the same neighbourhood and were kidnapped on their way home from work.
In an unrelated incident, a van driver identified as 25-year-old Ghulam Khan was gunned down near the Lyari Expressway, said the Shershah police. They claim that two men on a motorcycle killed him. Khan was a resident of New Sabzi Mandi and was from Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. They suspect he was killed over a personal enmity.
A man identified as 20-year-old Usman Khan was gunned down near his house in Hassan Noman Colony, said the Sohrab Goth police. DSP Iftikhar Lodhi said that Usman might have been killed by his neighbours.
The body of Sabir Ali, 25, was found by the Shah Latif Colony police on Friday. They claim that he was shot thrice and had moved to Karachi from Charsadda.
The body of an unidentified young man was found in a gunny bag near Sindhi Hotel, said the Liaquatabad police. DSP Wajahat Hussain said that the man’s hands and legs were bound together by a rope.
On Thursday night, two police constables were shot dead while ASI Javed was injured in an attack on the police mobile near Khyber Chowk in Ittehad Town, said the Mochko police. Police constable Mohammad Khan and Arif Khan were trying to stop three men on a motorcycle during a snap check when the incident took place. Mochko DSP Abdul Haq Bhutto said that they still had to figure out if the suspects shot at the policemen first to avoid getting arrested or if the suspects were sent to kill them. The bodies were shifted to Civil hospital. The constables lived in Baldia Town. The funeral prayers were offered at Garden Police Headquarter on Friday afternoon.
In Lyari, three men identified as Sufiyan, Naseeb and Murad Jan, were gunned down near Dhobi Ghat, said the Kalakot police. They claim that the men were affiliated with the banned Peoples Amn Committee. They suspect that the men had an argument and took out their guns to settle it. A driver identified as Shahnawaz Baloch was found dead near Mirza Adam Khan Road, said the Kalakot police.
