Two-pronged approach: Belarus company proposes tractor plant

The government is seeking a location for the plant.

KARACHI:

A tractor manufacturing company from Belarus wants to establish a plant in Sindh.

The government is seeking a location for it. A meeting was held at Chief Minister House between representatives of Taripple LLC and the chairman of the Board of Investment, Zubair Motiwala, on Thursday.

The chief minister said that the government would provide any assistance required. He voiced hope that the site for the plant be selected in Larkana or any other suitable place as they already had a vast market. At least 100,000 more tractors are needed in Pakistan. The officials were also informed that due to a government subsidy, every year more than 140,000 applications are received but the government can only subsidise 5,000 applications.

The delegation of M/s Taripple LLC said they had proposed a site at Hub industrial area.
