ICCI delegation returns from international trip

Opportunities explored in Turkey, Romania and the Czech Republic.

ISLAMABAD:
A seven-member delegation of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), headed by ICCI President Yassar Sakhi Butt, has returned after a 10-day visit to Turkey, Romania and the Czech Republic, says a press release issued here on Tuesday.

During meetings at Pakistani missions in the three countries, Yassar Sakhi Butt urged commercial attaches to facilitate the business community of Pakistan by providing the latest intelligence reports on foreign markets, so that exports of Pakistan can be enhanced to their maximum levels.

During its stay in Turkey, the ICCI delegation held successful meetings with the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce and other commercial bodies. The ICCI team also visited factories in Romania and attended a business dinner arranged by Pakistan’s Ambassador to Romania Rab Nawaz Khan. Business-to-business meetings at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Bucharest, Chamber of Commerce and Industry Prahova, and the Lasi Chamber of Commerce and Industry were the main features of the ICCI delegation’s visit to Romania. The press release further says the ICCI delegation held ‘fruitful’ meetings in the Czech Republic with the Confederation of Industry and the Prague Sport Expo.

Speaking about his trip, the ICCI president said that Turkey and Pakistan should further promote bilateral relations in multiple spheres. He said the purpose of his visit to Turkey was to explore more areas of mutual cooperation, to improve trade, and to strengthen bonds of friendship in order to exploit potential investment opportunities.

Butt said the Romanian market offers huge potential for Pakistani goods like pharmaceutical products, knit fabrics, plastics and plastic products, fish preparations, dairy products, surgical instruments and handicrafts.

The ICCI said that Czech investment in energy, auto, food processing, minerals, chemicals and transportation sectors will earn rich dividends for the country.
