Nabbed: Official arrested on corruption charges
Arrested on charges of unlawful accumulation of assets and embezzlement.
MIRPUR:
Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Accountability Bureau has arrested a senior official of the Public Works Department (PWD) Muzaffarabad on charges of unlawful accumulation of assets and embezzlement. A spokesperson of the AJK accountability bureau said that PWD Superintendant Engineer Raja Mushtaq Ahmed was arrested on Monday after he was found guilty in an investigation conducted by the bureau. “During the course of the inquiry, it was proven that the accused accumulated assets worth millions of rupees, including bank accounts and residential buildings in Narole and upper Chatter in Muzaffarabad and Dhirkot, as well as several shops,” stated the press release of the AJK accountability bureau. Ahmed is being interrogated for more details about his assets, which also include undisclosed bank accounts, the accountability bureau spokesman said.
