Self defence: Traders complain about security
Roshan Ali Sheikh said that he would recommend the Sindh home department issue arms licences to traders in the city.
KARACHI:
Karachi Commissioner Roshan Ali Sheikh said that he would recommend the Sindh home department issue arms licences to traders in the city. He said this while meeting a delegation of traders at his office on Tuesday. A list of businessmen willing to apply for the licence would be forwarded to the home department for consideration. Traders told Shaikh that their business had suffered as customers were fearful of visiting marketplaces because of criminal activities taking place. They also encouraged Shaikh to take steps to remove encroachments along side roads, which often cause traffic jams around commercial shopping centres.
