Diplomatic ties: German CG visits Tando Allahyar
Dr Tilo Klinner said that there was great potential for developing agricultural trade between Pakistan and Germany.

The consul general of Germany, Dr Tilo Klinner, said that there was great potential for developing agricultural trade between Pakistan and Germany. He said that his country would like to import fruits, specially mangoes, and seafood from Pakistan. He was talking to the media during a visit to the house of former nazima of Tando Allahyar district, Dr Raheela Magsi, on Monday.
Klinner said that although the textile imports from Pakistan to his country had increased, the future looked more promising after Pakistan got the general system of preference plus scheme. “As far as there is no global recession, the trade in textiles will continue to grow,” he said. But there were certain trade restrictions about the quality of Pakistani imports. While talking about the energy sector, Klinner said that German companies were also working on hydel and wind projects, in addition to providing consultancy to the government on the Thar Coal project. “The German power producing companies have great experience of harnessing coal high in lignite content,” he said. “There are two big mining sites in the eastern and western parts of the country.”
