Deep water: Man drown in dam
A 20-year-old man drowned in Khanpur Dam on Sunday.

A 20-year-old man drowned in Khanpur Dam on Sunday. Police sources said that Muhammad Ahmed, a resident Nawababad, Wah Cantonment, came to the dam with his friends for swimming. He jumped into the deep water but he could not get out of it. Later, divers fished out his body and handed it over to his family. Every year, dozens of people mostly youth from Taxila, Wah Cantt and Rawalpindi drown in the dam due to ineffective surveillance by Khanpur Dam authorities and the police.
