Amar Cables clinched the 14th edition of the National Seniors Inter-city Cup after defeating Karachi Omar by seven runs in a final in Lahore, according to the press release. Batting first, Amar Cables scored 208 for nine in their 30-over quota. Dastagir Butt top-scored with 76 and Ameer Akbar hit 49. Irfan Ali took three wickets for 37, while Jaffer Qureshi and Ahmed Hayat both took two wickets each. In reply, Karachi Omar were all out for 201 with Qureshi scoring 71. Rauf Wain and Mohammad Arif claimed two wickets each. Former Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Khalid Mahmood presented the winner’s trophy and Rs150,000 to Amar Cables captain Ameer Akbar, while Qureshi received the runners-up trophy and Rs75,000 on behalf of his team. Dastagir and Arif were declared joint men of the match.
