RAWALPINDI:

Scores of Quranic verses and Hadith teachings highlight the importance that Islam gives to a mother. This was said by Qazi Masaudul Hassan, Chairman of the Stairs Montessori & Secondary School Khurram Colony Muslim Town Rawalpindi at a seminar on the occasion of International Mothers Day.

Hassan said that a mother is a metaphor of selflessness, love and affection. He added that Islam enjoins its believers to show utmost reverence and respect to their parents. Such is the level of respect accorded to parents that children have been forbidden from uttering even a single annoying word to them.
