CJ address: Number of judges, courts will be increased soon
The chief justice says he is working on a long-term plan to address the shortage of courts.

Lahore High Court Chief Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed on Saturday said that the court was working towards increasing the number of judges in the Punjab.
He said this while addressing the concluding ceremony of an in-service training course for 23 district and sessions judges at the Punjab Judicial Academy. A car leasing scheme for judges is also in the pipeline, he said.
The chief justice said that he was working on a long-term plan to address the shortage of courts. Out of 30 schemes for judicial complexes, PC-I has been prepared for 23 and the Punjab government will be sent a summary, requesting allocation of funds, in a week. Justice Saeed said that transfers were “inevitable” in the service. He said that a transparent transfer policy had been evolved under which judicial officers are posted near their home.
