Back To The Stone Age: Baby’s body found near Malir sewer

Police have registered an FIR no. 97/ 2012 under section 338 Isqat-i-Hamal of the Pakistan Penal Code.

KARACHI: The body of a newborn baby boy was found near a manhole in Gharibabad Goth, Malir, on Friday. Malir City SHO Ismail Lashari told The Express Tribune that the baby was one day old and was found in a bag by police.

“We do not know who left the baby there. Investigations are under way to find the culprit behind the crime,” he said.

Meanwhile, police have registered an FIR no. 97/ 2012 under section 338 Isqat-i-Hamal of the Pakistan Penal Code. The body was initially taken to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for examination and then handed over to Edhi authorities for burial. Malir police had also found the body of a newborn baby in February.
