Cricket: BCCI to spend INR700m
Decided to award 160 domestic and international cricketers who have retired before 2003-2004.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to award 160 domestic and international cricketers who have retired before 2003-2004, costing the Board INR700 million, according to The Hindu. “From the surplus of the IPL, the BCCI will make a one-time benefit payment to cricketers who have retired before 2003-04 in recognition of their services to Indian cricket, at the international and domestic level,” said the board in a release after the Working Committee meeting.
