In cold blood: Prayer leader arrested for killing wife

A prayer leader was arrested for killing his wife on Friday. The police said they arrested Maulvi Abdul Khaliq of Dhariyal Oghi village after they received a complaint that he had killed his wife Zarjana Bibi, a mother of four, on Thursday evening. According to the police, Bibi was offering her evening prayers when Khaliq allegedly attacked her with an axe and injured her. The villagers came to her rescue, but she died before she could be given any medical care. The motive behind the murder could not be ascertained as Khaliq refused to divulge any details.
