Appointing District Judiciary: SC dismisses Sindh govt appeal

The control of the process can not be vested in the executive, which includes the Public Service Commission.

ISLAMABAD:
The Supreme Court on Wednesday dismissed the appeal of Sindh government in a case relating to the selection and appointment of judges of the district judiciary. The apex court held that high courts are the forums constitutionally empowered to select and appoint judges of the district judiciary. The control of the process can not be vested in the executive, which includes the Public Service Commission.
