need more speed
This news is important from the perspective of Broadband Commission ITU, Geneva. Since the Secretary General of ITU is already in Islamabad on the special invitation of the Government, and the Universal Service Fund, and operators. It is important to provide a level playing field to all the service providers, with special emphasis on tansparency to customer reach. oTHER companies than PTCL are doing better, efficiently, effectively and make use and access to Internet with out any costs.
its mind boggling how dumb some people are.Your download speed is ALWAYS 1/8 of the speed of your internet connection. That means if you have a connection of 1mbps, the download speed you should get is 125 kbps :)
Shaw Internet is owned by PTCL's international investment fund.
Absolutely fantastic. I pay $120 USD/Month and I get 10 KBPS and when I complain to the co. they tell me that it's still fast for what you pay.
Shaw Internet in Canada offers up to 250 mbps. I tried their 50 mb plan and saw 35-40 mps download speeds most of the times.741 kbps is a good start but still long ways to go.
@Mo Sheikh: Mind telling what connection do you have?
Pakistan should try beating South Korea in internet speed and connectivity.
if PTCL is charging us for 1000kbps why are we being given an average of 741kbps isn't that cheating.
India is also not doing that well either with 900 kbps, China slightly higher with 1.5 mbps and Korea is the global leader with 17.5 mbps average speed.
My last internet speed test on speedtest was as follows:
Download: 20.06 Mbps Upload: 33.91 Mbps Ping: 25 ms
Beat that anyone...
For a national average it's very good.
American national average speeds weren't much more than 1.5mb/s not so long ago.
741kbps is good?? It's pathetic!!!
Thats very good.
