Accident: Youth crushed to death by bus in Lahore

Tabish tripped over as the driver, who operated the automatic door, shut it despite objections from other students.

LAHORE:
A student of a local college in Lahore was crushed to death by a CNG bus on early Monday morning when he was about to get on the bus near Dharampura Underpass, Express News reported.

Tabish, a resident of the Mughalpura area of Lahore tripped over as the driver, who operated the automatic door, shut it despite objections from other students.

The bus drove over him after he fell on the road.

Other students aboard on the bus forced the driver to pull over and told the passengers to get off the bus after which they set the bus and the following two buses, alight.


Rescue 1122 and the police reached the accident site.

The infuriated students raised slogans against the driver and demanded for his immediate arrest.

Tabish’s body was later taken to the hospital in a police mobile, accompanied by his elder brother.

The fire brigade tried to extinguish the fire which had engulfed the buses, but could not completely put it off and the buses were completely destroyed as a result.
