Daughter had told her father that her husband had loose morals.
BAHAWALPUR:
A man was accused of cutting off his wife’s tongue on Wednesday with help from his father in Digah Aman Khan village near Sadiqabad. Speaking to The Express Tribune, complainant Abdul Ghani said that he had married his daughter, Zarrina, to Mohammad Shakoor. He said that his daughter had told him that her husband had loose morals. “She said that her husband and his father, Nabi Bakhsh, had threatened her not to tell anyone,” he said. He said that after he had visited his daughter on Wednesday, the two men cut her tongue for ‘speaking to him.’ Zarrina was taken to the Shaikh Zayed Hospital where doctors treating her at the intensive care unit said her condition was critical. Ghani complained that the police had arrested both suspects but later released the father. Bangla Manthar investigation officer Rab Nawaz said the father was released after he was found innocent.
