Not only are the school premises insufficient to accommodate the large number of students, its dilapidated walls and ceilings may also cave in at any moment, a safety hazard.
On sunny days, the children have to sit under the scorching sun to study. During inclement weather, they have to sit among pools of stagnant rainwater mixed with sewerage.
The teachers of the school are equally affected by the conditions but remain helpless.
On the one hand, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has been busy distributing advanced laptops among students of the province, while on the other, students of this school within his jurisdiction wait for the government to provide them with basic facilities.
According to a recent report, the budget of the laptop initiative is Rs4 billion, and so far thousands of students across the province have received the laptops.

Hi! Friends
While shooting this news report i was astonished that why the government is ignoring these basic schools and focusing on new projects and spending massive funds. On the other end , the complex of deprivation is victimizing these innocent village area students. Thanks to Express Tribune for posting this. My report is available fully on You tube with this tag School conditions News Report by Rizwan Hameed Express News
The greatest crime Punjab Government did with these students is with the same funds they shouldve hired top Phds with good packages, and give them access to Digital Libraries to be equipped with the latest research around the world. This wouldve not only made them compete with local job market but even global market. But this policy was to get votes and popularity - and end up playing will the lives of these young aspirants in a critical time of their life. I havent laptop policy from public funds in even developed countries, and it is a crime in a country like Pakistan where there isnt clean water or primary education for masses.
that's why i hate these drama league party...... they just want to get in to power they don't really care about us!!!!
Still Shahbaz complains that media is not praising him, for what media do this?
1- For IMPURE dengue spray (caused hundred deaths) 2- For FAULTY intermediate result (ruined the future of thousands students) 3- For FAKE medicine of PIC 4- For the PERFORMANCE of Police department
@Hassan: How can you say the funds for he school were used to fund the lap tops? Do you have proof? What if the money for the school was just siphoned off by corrupt local officials? I suppose rather than applauding the improvement in computer awareness and better education in Punjab you just want to complain.
@PTI till death: dont just wait... Vote for Imran too... :-)
Primary School boys should be made eligible for vote, this is only way Punjab Govt. will focus on them
Stop expecting anything from these sharifs...Just wait for IMRAN..
@Review on Laptop: The state needs both good schools and modern computer awareness. It is not a question of wrong priorities but the nation needs to address all priorities. At least the Punjab government is trying to make an effort and using funds for the benefit of students. We also need to ask ourselves about what locals in the village are doing about improving the school. We all have a collective responsibility but I think that people like you who simply criticize one programme for not repairing schools would then compalin about the government not improving computer literacy too! Give them a chance because we can all see that Punjab is the most developed and best run province in the nation. Why can't we give credit for the good work which is being done and work even more to fix everything instead of just complaining?
Recall the funds for PML-N Laptops were redirected towards "political usage" from Aid slated towards the "WORLDBANK PAKISTAN AID: Punjab Education Sector Project" a WorldBank grant of $350 MIllion approved in July 2009 ending in June 2012 Which was slated to have the funds be as 39% for Primary Education, 39% for Secondary Education and the remaining 22% was for Public administration Education - I wonder which category did these Laptops come under? as all laptops were given to University Students? bearing ID cards aka Vote
Good review this one is far better then lame laptops review coming every day ... Coming up with a practical example hats off...
This perfect case of wrong priorties
