KARACHI: The Government of Sindh on Thursday issued the notification for two government holidays in a week, Express News reported.

The decision had been taken earlier in an attempt to conserve electricity and control loadshedding. All four provinces had reached a mutual consensus on implementing decisions taken during the energy congerence.

This action is expected to conserve a total of 700 megawatts of electricity.

Apart from reducing the number of working days for government offices, the government had earlier decided to implement a street-light conservation plan recommended by the Ministry of Water and Power.
