5 killed, 2 injured in Bajaur blast
Security officials on the explosion site told The Express Tribune that they were on routine patrol when the explosion took place near their vehicle, killing three personnel.
An official of the political administration while confirming the casualties said that two civilians were also killed in the explosion.
The security officials that those killed included two Frontier Corps personnel and one official of the Bajaur Levies.
The area was cordoned off by the security forces and a search operation was launched which is still underway in the area.
Assistant Political Agent Tariq Khan along with other officials reached the site along with a large number of security officials.
Officials said that the injured were rushed to Agency Headquarter Hospital in Khar. One of the injured, identified as Yar Rehman is said to be in critical condition.
The area lies adjacent to the tumultuous Kunar province of Afghanistan.
Correction: An earlier version of the article had incorrectly stated that two Frontier Constabulary personnel were killed in the blast. The error has been corrected.

These terrorists are only concerned with achieving their dark and evil agenda, and these blatant attacks on innocent lives continue to remind us that we must stand together, and eliminate the threat that’s preventing us from bringing peace and stability to the region. We must pull ourselves out of the blame game and see that these terrorists are preventing us from achieving our common objectives. Terrorist organizations like the TTP carry the blood of thousands of innocent Pakistanis on their hands. And anybody who thinks that Pakistan should not be involved in this WOT, is simply bowing down to terrorism, while offering a free pass to the killers of thousands. Our nations have already made their stance clear against terrorism by sacrificing thousands of brave soldiers in the WOT. The need of the hour is to combine our efforts like we have in the past, and squeeze the life out of the insurgency.
Our most sincere and heartfelt condolences go to the friends and families of these brave security personnel who died serving their country, and as well as to the civilians who fell prey to this inhuman act of terror.
Imreen Adeel Haider : You missed my point completely. A drone would have been better so that the terrorist would have been taken out. Without the terrorist, such bomb attacks are unlikely. But the drones would have killed some commoners accompanying the terrorist also. My point is why are the commoners accompanying the terrorist, their family? friends ? or a shield put up by the terrorist ?
@Vasan, so you feel that the passers-by are to be blamed as well for their deaths? Or would you count that as collateral damage statistic, and forget it the next second? Or would you blame the whole nation accountable for acts of few?
Your argument reminds me of Bill O'Reilly, who, in the initial days of Afghanistan war after 9/11, when a number of civilians were killed in a US air raid, mentioned in a show that while he was not happy with the civilian deaths, he also said something quite similar to what you did: Isn't it partly the fault of those people who were living in Taliban regime, that the Taliban were in power, and supported 9/11 therefore? Excellent logic! Congressional medal for O'Reilly and Kudos to you!

So sad. Sincere condolences to the bereaved families & prayers for those martyred. @ET: The FC deputed in Bajaur / Mohmand is not Frontier Constabulary; it is Frontier Corps (two separate forces). Please confirm & correct it.
Drone would have been better. Atleast it would have taken some snakes along with the innocent civilians. On second thoughts, the civilians living or moving with the snakes, would not have been that innocent at all.
Shame on TTP and other militants organizations which are killing innocent muslims and defaming Islam.
