Torture allegations: LHC extends stay order till 9th
Stay order issued earlier a verdict in the case against former MPA Aslam Madhyana.

A division bench of the Lahore High Court on Wednesday extended a stay order it had issued earlier stopping an anti-terrorism court in Sargodha from issuing a verdict in the case against former MPA Aslam Madhyana. Madhyana is accused of torturing an elderly school teacher and breaking his legs. The bench comprising Justice Sheikh Najamul Hasan and Justice Abdul Sami Khan was hearing a writ petition filed by Madhyana seeking deletion of Section 7 of the Anti-terrorism Act 1997 from the FIR and transfer of the case to a court of ordinary jurisdiction (sessions court).
