Education: ‘Ensure 100% attendance of teachers’

DCO said that more funds would be allocated keeping in view the needs of schools.

LAHORE: District Coordination Officer (DCO) Noorul Amin Mengal directed district officers should ensure 100% attendance of teachers in schools. Mengal was speaking at the 16th review meeting of the Education Department at the town hall.

He expressed his discontent over the low attendance of teachers during February and March, particularly in Wagha town and Aziz Bhatti town and directed the officers concerned to monitor teachers’ attendance. Speaking on the allocation for education in the upcoming budget, the DCO said that more funds would be allocated keeping in view the needs of schools. On making the process of hiring teachers transparent, Mengal said that vacant posts will be filled soon through exams conducted by the National Testing Service (NTS). He also directed the Executive District Officer (EDO) Education to complete the promotion process of teaching and non teaching staff. Mengal also directed the EDO to ensure cleanliness in schools.
