Cycling: Neelam, Asma succeed in national event
Neelam completed the journey in eight minutes and 30 seconds.
KARACHI:
Punjab’s Neelam Riaz won the 10km time-trial race of the 10th National Women Cycling Championship while Railway’s Asma, who is hearing and speech impaired, won the 15km scratch race in Kasur yesterday.
Neelam completed the journey in eight minutes and 30 seconds. HEC’s Razia Hanif finished second behind Neelam while Railway’s Fiza Riaz ended third. Meanwhile, in the scratch race, HEC’s Mehwish and Railway’s Fiza finished second and third respectively. For the first time, five girls from Afghanistan are participating in the event.
