Labour Day: Sharif bros appear together to increase wages by Rs2,000

Sharif brothers lash out against govt after distributing 1,296 flat keys and increasing monthly labour...

LAHORE:
The Sharif brothers – Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) Chief Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif – in a rare occurrence appeared together to address a gathering organised to commemorate International Labour Day on Tuesday.

During the ceremony, the Sharif brothers distributed around 1,296 flat keys among workers and announced the labour wage to be increased from Rs7,000 to Rs9,000 per month.

After PML-N’s October 28, 2011 rally in Lahore which was addressed by Shahbaz Sharif, the brothers decided not to address any gathering together for uncertain reasons, but the recent announcement of a protest movement by the party against the government has seemingly forced the brothers to unite.

After completing the due formalities at the gathering, Nawaz Sharif began lashing out against the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) led coalition government and urged the participants to support the party in protecting the judiciary which is ‘in hot water’.

Nawaz Sharif, while defending his protest call, said that the government has firmly decided to defy the rulings of the Supreme Court come what may.

He added that the Pakistani nation, including workers, had restored the judiciary and they would never allow the PPP government to ridicule the judiciary and if it happens, they will put the country into chaos and anarchy.

He further said that the current rulers have made the country a laughing stock in the world and this has forced him to stand up only for the sake of the country. He said that if the nation makes the right decision in the upcoming elections then he will end all prevailing issues of the country.
