Nadya Suleman, 36, gave birth to eight babies as a single mother in 2009. But goodwill turned to anger in the media after it was revealed Suleman had undergone fertility treatments when she already had six children, and questions were raised about her ability to provide for her family.
Her children became only the second set of octuplets known to have survived birth in the United States.
Suleman, who lives in the Southern California suburban community of La Habra, has less than $50,000 in assets and owes between $500,000 and $1 million, according to legal papers submitted to U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California and posted at entertainment website E! Online.
Suleman told ABC News last week that she had received $4,000 to $5,000 a month in public assistance.

She should be tried in court for not treating her children properly and misuse of scientific knowledge. Is brining so many lives in this world while you cant support them, not a joke?
Her children should be given for adoption if she has no means to support them .. No one asked her to give birth to more than a dozen children. For some people its just an aim in life to have more kids .. without proper planning for the future of kids in particular and the world in general. IMHO, there should be a ban on having more than two kids as the population of the world is increasing very fast and there is not only shortage of food and cloths but due to high demand and low supply, prices of every single commodity is unaffordable for the poor. This world really need an overhaul of how it is run, even in Pakistan, due to high population majority of people can not afford to buy their first house while on the other hand rich people are exploiting the situation by purchasing more than what they need for the sake of profit which is totally irrational and selfish thing to do.
