Martyrs day: Tribute paid to brave soldiers
The army has distributed plots and Rs500,000 as grants to families of soldiers who lost their lives fighting terrorism

The foremost duty of a soldier is to defend the country’s borders and those who sacrifice their lives for their motherland will never be forgotten. This was said by Brigadier Shehzad Hamid Shah during a function held in connection to Martyrs Day at Allama Iqbal Auditorium here on Monday. “The army has distributed plots and Rs500,000 as grants to families of soldiers who lost their lives fighting terrorism. Their children will also be given free education and medical facilities,” said Shah. On April 30, 2009, the Pakistani Army moved their forces in Malakand Division to launch an operation against militants. Martyrs Day is observed across the country every year to remember the brave soldiers who lost their lives to protect the country.
