LONDON:
Prince William and his wife Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, Sunday celebrated their first wedding anniversary.

The royal couple were planning to make it a private affair, a spokesperson for St. James' Palace confirmed earlier this week.

After the wedding, reportedly watched by two billion people across the globe, the pair jetted off on their secret honeymoon in the Seychelles, only to resume regal duties immediately after as they attended their first overseas tour to Canada and US.

Since then, William has been largely tied up with his duties as a search and rescue pilot for the Royal Air Force in the Falklands, while Kate has duly fulfilled numerous regal roles, from playing solo roles to conducting engagements alongside Queen Elizabeth II.
