Police Orders: ‘Shops, businesses must be guarded’

CCPO says it is necessary to set up CCTV cameras and deploy guards at the city’s commercial centres.

Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Muhammad Aslam Tareen has directed all divisional SPs to ensure implementation of the Shops and Establishment (Security) Act. He issued these instructions to SPs during a meeting with a 20-member delegation from the Mall Road Traders Association at his office on Saturday.


Tareen appealed to the representatives of the trading community to cooperate with the police to ensure that adequate security measures are taken for their businesses. He said that it was necessary to set up CCTV cameras and deploy guards at the city’s commercial centres.

He directed the traffic police to ensure smooth flow of traffic on The Mall, especially during peak hours, to ensure peaceful commercial activities.
