Cricket: KCCA quick to blame, slow to substantiate

Officials unable to make a decision over T20 Cup fixing accusations.

KARACHI:

Following a huge hue and cry over players’ suspect behaviour in the super Eight T20 Cup, no decision has been made in the case despite the Karachi City Cricket Association (KCCA) forming an inquiry committee.

KCCA’s Secretary Ijaz Farooqui claimed that the association was trying to get to the bottom of the case and it was  a delicate matter.

“Several careers are on the line so we don’t want to draw a conclusion in haste,” Farooqi told The Express Tribune.

“We were gutted after the loss but don’t want our bias and anger to destroy someone’s reputation. The process has begun and we’ll reveal the findings once we are satisfied with them.”

Suspicions were raised against several players by Karachi Zebras’ manager Saeed Jabbar, after their match against Peshawar, who have claimed he was not satisfied with the show Hasan Raza, Danish Kaneria and few other players put on.
