Boxing event concludes in Lahore
WAPDA’s Qadir, Waseem win respective finals.

The 34th National Boxing Championship, which concluded in Lahore yesterday, was marred by controversy on the final day after Wapda’s Qadir Khan was initially declared the winner of the 60-kg category before a protest saw his opponent Nawaz Dad being awarded the bout. The protest followed claims of biased scoring before Nawaz was awarded the fight 15-12.
Meanwhile, Police’s Mohib Bacha won the 49-kg category, while Wapda’s Mohammad Waseem claimed the 52-kg event after his opponent, Abdul Waheed of PAF, retired hurt. Navy’s Samiullah won the 56-kg category, while Adnan of PAF won the 64-kg final.
