Gilani to visit UK from May 8
Gilani to attend the first annual review meeting of the Enhanced Strategic Dialogue.
ISLAMABAD:
Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani will visit the United Kingdom (UK) from May 8 to May 13 to attend the first annual review meeting of the Enhanced Strategic Dialogue, the Foreign Office announced.
He will be accompanied by a high level delegation including senior ministers and parliamentarians. The two sides formally launched the Dialogue last year during Prime Minister David Cameron’s visit to Islamabad. The meeting encompasses five areas of bilateral cooperation, including trade, development assistance, education and health, culture, and defence and security.
During the visit, the two leaders will review progress and launch a trade and investment roadmap to increase the volume of trade to 2.5 billion pounds sterling by 2015.
The program of the visit includes interaction with British parliamentarians, members of the cabinet, and meetings with prominent British businessmen, investors and the media.
