General (r) Javed appointed Pakistan Steel Mills CEO

Javed had previously served as chairman of Pakistan Steel Mills from September 2006 to May 2008.

KARACHI:
Former chairman Pakistan Steel Mills (PSM), General (retd) Muhammad Javed has been appointed the new chief executive officer of the state-owned enterprise, industry sources confirmed on Wednesday.

Sources familiar with the matter said that the Ministry of Industries and Production had already issued an official notification regarding Javed’s appointment. He will replace acting CEO Wasif Mahmood with effect from Thursday.


Javed had previously served as chairman at Pakistan Steel Mills from September 2006 to May 2008, sources said.

Sources said that the production graph had been up during Javed’s tenure, adding that his appointment was seen positively by the staff of the state-owned industrial complex.
