ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz (PML-N) member Shumaila Rana, who was allegedly involved in a credit card scandal, rejoined the Punjab Assembly on Tuesday.

Rana had resigned from her seat in July 2009 after a female MPA accused her of stealing and using her credit card. Rana alleged that she was forced to quit Punjab Assembly by the provincial government, but the PML-N leadership had denied pressurising her.

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Tuesday declared Rana a successful candidate on a PML-N ticket on the women reserved seat in the Punjab Assembly. The ECP also declared two other candidates successful on women reserved seats in the National Assembly.

This shows the judicial system's uselessness despite claiming to be impartial and independent. All that evidence against her and still this woman gets off scot free and lands in power again. Shame on the judiciary.

That's what happens here. Incident gets reported, notice is taken, but in a months time is brushed under the rug.
