Karachi violence: Police arrest two dozens suspects during raids

Due to the situation in Karachi a meeting has been called in by the President to discuss the situation in Karachi.

KARACHI: Police conducted raids in different areas of Karachi, leading to the arrest of two dozen people. Paramilitary operations were launched in different parts of the city during Sunday night.

Initially, four people were arrested near Hasan Square at Mikasa Apartments and one person was arrested at Askari Park near PIB Colony. Four people were also detained in Orangi Town during the operation.

Several people were detained in other areas including Landhi, Awami Colony, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Federal B area, Kharadar, Napier and Ranchor Line.

Paramilitary operations in other areas of the city were also carried out.

Woman killed, two injured in firing incident

A woman was killed and two others injured in a firing incident in the Sherpao Colony, Landhi area of Karachi, Express News reported on Monday.

The two injured also include one woman.

The cause behind the firing has not been ascertained as yet.
