KARACHI:
The Sindh home department has asked SHOs to start collecting details about residents of their localities, through a notification it issued on Saturday.
Sharfuddin Memon, adviser to home department, said that the directives were issued in response to the terrorist and criminal activities taking place in the city. Owners of flats and bungalows, in addition to property dealers, have also been directed to provide information about their temporary tenants to the area police. The police will then verify the computerised national identity card numbers of the residents with the National Database and Registration Authority.
