Chairman NAB told to appear before SC on April 19
SC seeks progress report on the RPP case.

The Supreme Court (SC), seeking an order’s implementation report from the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on the Rental Power case, it directed chairman NAB, Admiral (retd) Fasih Bokhari to appear before the SC on April 19, sources familiar with the development revealed.
NAB has been tasked to probe 12 RPPs including Techno-E Power (on Summandri Road, Faisalabad), Young Generation (Satiana Road, Faisalabad), Techno-E Power (Sahuwal, Sialkot), Pakistan Power Resources (Guddu district, Kashmore), Karkay Karodeniz (a Turkish ship anchored in Karachi),Gulf Rental (Aimanabad, Gujranwala), Reshma Power (Raiwind Road, Lahore), Walters Power International Naudero-I (Larkana), Walters Power International Naudero-II (Larkana), Alstome (Bhakki district, Sheikhupura), General Electric Power (Sharqpur district, Sheikhupura) and Pakistan Power Resources (Piranghaib, Multan).
NAB officials familiar with development of the case told The Express Tribune said that the role of government functionaries including former federal ministers, secretaries of the Water and Power and Finance, the formers Chiefs of PEPCO and concerned officials of NEPRA, PPIB and GENCOs in the case would be determined during the course of investigation.
A team of Special Operations Division of the NAB established at NAB Headquarters in Imamabad headed by the Director General (DG) Operations, also given the charge of DG Special Operations Division Col.(Retd) Shahzad Anwar Bhatti for dealing the Rental Power Projects (RPPs) and other mega corruption case probing by the NAB on the orders of the Supreme Court. He is tasked with examining record obtained by the Ministry of Water and Power, Ministry of Finance, PEPCO, NEPRA, PPIB and GENCOs and other documents submitted to the Supreme Court by concerned authorities during hearing of this case.
