Hafiz Sheikh to attend IMF, World Bank meetings in Washington

Shaikh is also scheduled to meet the Finance Ministers of Iran, Saudi Arabia and China during his visit.

WASHINGTON:
Finance Minister Dr Abdul Hafiz Shaikh is on his first visit to the US capital after Parliamentary Committee on National Security passed a set of recommendations on ties with the United States to participate in the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank Spring Meetings 2012.

Shaikh is accompanied by the Finance Secretary, the Governor of State Bank of Pakistan and the Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission.


During his week-long trip, Shaikh is scheduled to meet USAID Administrator Dr Rajiv Shah, IMF Pakistan Mission Chief Adnan Mazarei, World Bank Managing Director Sri Mulyani, Asian Development Bank President Haruhijo Kuroda.

Shaikh is also scheduled to meet the Finance Ministers of Iran, Saudi Arabia and China during his visit.
