Inferno: Firefighter dies at duty
Trying to extinguish a blaze that broke out in the cooling tower of Jamshoro Thermal Power Station.
HYDERABAD:
A firefighter died on Saturday while trying to extinguish a blaze that broke out in the cooling tower of one of the four units of Jamshoro Thermal Power Station on Saturday. Unit number one, which was on fire, was shut on March 14 for repair, according to the Abdul Malik Memon, the chief executive officer of the plant. The firefighters fought for about two hours before backup arrived from Hyderabad and Jamshoro. The victim, Allah Dino Siyal, left behind three sons and a daughter.
