Lyari violence: Unrest pours into other areas of Karachi, 7 injured
Fear engulfs different areas of Karachi due to aerial firing by unidentified men.

Tension in Lyari started pouring into other areas of Karachi on the second day as firing incidents and clashes between police and protesters continued in Lea Market, injuring two people in Lyari and five in other areas.
Miscreants barricaded the area, further obstructing entry into Lyari.
Frontier Constabulary personnel were stationed at high rise buildings, however firing incidents continued at regular intervals.
Residents living deeper in the area have been surrounded for 24 hours whereas many are being relocated.
In other areas, unidentified men fired a rocket and threw a hand grenade in Gulbahar Colony injuring 3 people including one child.
Two people were injured when unidentified men opened indiscriminate fire in Garden whereas areas of Golimar,Liaqatabad, Teenhatti, Mawacha Goth, Shanti Nagar, Malir, Dalmia and Landhi were engulfed in fear due to aerial firing by unidentified men in the early hours of the day.
Lyari residents reacting strongly to security operation: Sindh Governor
Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad said that the reaction of the Lyari residents to the security operation is a “severe reaction” and it proves the presence of weapons in the area.
Talking to the media on Saturday, Ebad said, “Police, Rangers and law enforcement agencies are being targeted with rocket launchers, hand grenades and other sophisticated weapons. This proves that weapons exist in this area which is obviously being used on other citizens, resulting in violence.”
Ebad added that no work can be done if there is no “solid” political will involved and said that the Lyari operation was started with a “clear intent” and will of all political parties.
