Gilani confers minister status to Sherry Rehman
Pakistan's ambassador to US gets status of federal minister.
ISLAMABAD:
Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani conferred the status of federal minister to Pakistan’s Ambassador to US Sherry Rehman on Wednesday.
The cabinet division issued a notification in this regard.
Rehman, former information minister was appointed as Pakistan's Ambassador to the United States on November 23 last year.
She was a member of the National Assembly before her appointment as an ambassador to the US and was serving as the chairperson of Pakistan Red Crescent Society. Rehman was also member of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security Committee.
She served as the federal minister for information and broadcasting from March 2008 till March 2009.
