Make peace: MQM delegation meets Shia clerics
The meetings were held on the directives of MQM chief Altaf Hussain.
KARACHI:
A delegation of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), which included Sindh Health Minister Dr Sagheer Ahmed and Coordination Committee member Waseem Aftab, held separate meetings with Shia cleric Allama Talib Johari and the head of the Shia Jafria Alliance Allama Abbas Kumaili on Tuesday. The meetings were held on the directives of MQM chief Altaf Hussain. According to a press release issued by the MQM, the participants condemned the recent spate of sectarian violence in Gilgit-Baltistan and declared that it was a result of a well-thought-out conspiracy. The MQM delegation also stressed that clerics spread the message of unity and brotherly spirit, and refrain from making contentious statements.
