PM House brushes aside "baseless" Khar removal reports
Media reports said foreign minister might be removed from post, PM House denies.
ISLAMABAD:
The Prime Minister House, denying media reports regarding the removal of Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar from her post, stated that the media insinuated the prime minister’s statements.
The spokesperson of the PM House clarified that Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani, while welcoming President Asif Ali Zardari’s visit to India, had said that a “new team” would give a new impetus to normalisation of relations between India and Pakistan.
The spokesperson added that by “new team”, the prime minister meant the new Foreign Secretary and Designate High Commissioner to New Delhi Salman Bashir.
He added that the news regarding the change of the foreign minister is “baseless and speculative”.
