Pakistan to host Iran, India kabaddi teams

Tri-nation series to be held in September.

KARACHI:
The Pakistan Kabaddi Federation (PKF) will be hosting a tri-nation series in September with India and Iran set to take part in the traditional circle style of the sport.

“The federations of India and Iran have verbally agreed to participate in the event,” PKF Secretary Muhammad Sarwar told The Express Tribune.

Several international teams have pulled out of tournaments in Pakistan despite confirming their participation but Sarwar said that the case will be different this time. He added that the teams will also send their full-strength squads.

“We have asked them to send their full strength here so that the level of competition is healthy.”

On the presence of several parallel kabaddi bodies, Sarwar said that the rest were fake and have done nothing for the promotion of the sport.
