Kaneria wants hearing to be delayed
Leg-spinner’s legal team has not received required documents.

Danish Kaneria’s defence wants the player’s London hearing into charges of corruption to be delayed as they are still waiting for the arrival of the required documents needed to file a reply.
The leg-spinner has been called in for hearing after his convicted former Essex teammate Mervyn Westfield accused him of setting up a meeting with a bookie. Kaneria’s case will be fought by Farogh Naseem, Time Solicitors (UK) and Stephen Hourigan.
“We’ve applied for an extension because there are some documents needed and we’ll receive them in a few days,” Naseem told The Express Tribune. “Kaneria has a strong case as he hasn’t done anything. Everything will depend on how fairly his trial is conducted.”
Naseem has written to Gerald Elias, the chairman of the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) Disciplinary Hearing Panel, in this regard.
