Mother of deceased files application, judge directs police station to register FIR if cognisable offence is made out.
KARACHI:
The police was ordered to register an FIR against MNA Nabeel Ahmed Gabol and CID Senior Superintendent (SSP) Chaudhry Aslam Khan for killing a man in a ‘fake encounter’ in Lyari, if a cognisable offence is found against them.
Additional district and sessions judge, South, Abdul Razzak while allowing an application filed by Bilqees, mother of the deceased, directed the concerned police station to lodge an FIR if a cognisable offence is made out.
The order came in a private complaint filed under section 22-A of CrPC seeking direction to the police to lodge an FIR against Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik, Gabol and CID SSP for killing Saquib in a fake encounter by the Central Investigation Department (CID).
According to the applicant, Saquib was kidnapped or taken into custody, and after an hour his body bearing bullet wounds was thrown in the locality.
The court disposed of the application saying that Malik has apparently no connection with the case. In respect to the other two accused, the court directed the police to record the statement of the complainant.
